After serving on the Board of Directors since 2003 I have been honored with many requests to continue. I do not believe in over-regulation. I want to live here with peace of mind.
I believe, for the most part, National, State and Local government regulation is enough to keep our neighborhood respectable. I try not to waste time and money along with keep the community advised of ALL important issues that affect ALL members.
I think I am in a better position than most to spend the required amount of volunteer time to make this community the best it can be. If you elect me this year, I will keep trying to make things better for everyone. I believe most of the members of this community will get more involved in our HOA procedures with proper behavior by board members such as a professional demeanor and open door communication.
Remember, even if you have the best qualifications, if you do not have the time to apply yourself, you cannot do the community any good by serving on the board.
I feel I have the following experience which would be applicable when serving on the Board of Directors: I was born and raised in the Baltimore area and I have lived in Beachwood Estates since 1999. At this time in my life I have the time it takes to manage this community properly. I have a B.A. from UMBC for Psychology Personnel Administration and Industrial Relations. I have several years of experience as a Nationally Accredited Legal Secretary, and I spent five years as Secretary for my parish council.
Most recently, and currently, since 2003, I have served on the Board for North Point Peninsula Community Coordinating Council (NPC), which is a volunteer umbrella community group established for the well-being of Beachwood and other communities in the Edgmere area. In the past year, while serving on the Board of Directors for the Beachwood HOA, I believe I have gained valuable insight into Maryland HOA Law and Baltimore County Zoning and Permit issues http://www.co.ba.md.us/Agencies/permits
Even though the majority of the board rules, I believe some of my efforts to better the community have been successful such as obtaining grants of money from CBT for tree planting and maintenance which led to community 2003 awards from Baltimore County Pitch-In-For-Progress and the Maryland Plant Award. I believe I tried to assist as best I could with community concerns in the past, but remember I am only one of seven on the board.
Remember this proverb: TELL ME, AND I WILL FORGET; SHOW ME, AND I MAY NOT REMEMBER; INVOLVE ME, AND I WILL UNDERSTAND.

I would like to be on the Board of Directors because:
I believe in a direct and fair approach, so I would bring an open and objective view to issues.
I believe that an HOA Board should follow the direction of the community and always do what is in the best interest of the community. I would like to improve community relations and to increase our volunteer base. I think people should be given all facts that are presented in a clear and concise manner so that an informed decision can be made on issues. I do not believe we need a policing policy to run a successful community.
I feel I have the following experience, which would be applicable when serving on the Board.
I have been running a small business for 15 years. I do what it takes to make things work. I handle all aspects from ordering supplies to producing a budget that is adhered to. I have no problem getting out there and getting my hands dirty. Since I have lived in Beachwood I have been on the Grounds Committee and I am currently coordinating the Adopt-A-Pond Program. I am very aware of the bottom line and will take every measure to cut costs and save money to keep our fees at a reasonable amount. I have lived in this community for four years and have seen many things that I do not feel are right or in the best interest of the community and my intentions are to fix these issues.
